Loomys Driving Lessons – Terms & Conditions
By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions via the Loomys Driving Lessons App or website, you confirm that you understand and accept the conditions set out below, which govern the provision of driving tuition through Loomys Driving Lessons.
1. Status of Instructors
All Loomys Driving Lessons instructors operate as independent, self-employed franchisees. Lesson prices are set at the discretion of individual instructors. Loomys Driving Lessons is not responsible for any payments made directly to instructors, as these payments are not processed through the company.
2. Eligibility
All pupils must:
• Be at least 17 years old, in accordance with UK law.
• Hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence.
• Inform their instructor immediately of any changes to their driving licence status, including endorsements or disqualifications, during their tuition period.
3. Lesson Bookings and Cancellations
• Pupils must provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are chargeable in full.
• All lesson payments must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson. Payment options include Visa, debit card (via our website), or bank transfer.
4. Block Bookings & Refunds
• Block booking discounts are offered on the understanding that pupils commit to a course of lessons. These discounts are non-refundable.
• In exceptional circumstances, a refund may be offered for unused lessons. However, any lessons taken will be charged at the full standard hourly rate, and the discounted rate will not apply. The difference will be deducted from any refund due.
• Cash refunds are not available.
• All lessons and credits must be used within 4 months of purchase. After this period, unused lessons are non-refundable and will be forfeited.
5. Lesson Rates
Loomys Driving Lessons and its instructors reserve the right to amend lesson rates at any time. Pupils will be notified in advance of any rate changes that affect future bookings.
6. Punctuality & Delays
• Pupils are expected to be punctual. Instructors will wait a maximum of 15 minutes from the scheduled lesson start time. If the pupil fails to attend within this period, the lesson will be deemed forfeited, and payment will be required.
• If an instructor is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, the lost time will be added to a future lesson or rescheduled as appropriate.
7. Lesson Duration
• Lesson duration must be agreed upon in advance. If an instructor is unable to complete the full lesson time for reasons beyond their control, the remaining time will be credited and delivered at a later date.
8. Mechanical Issues and Emergencies
Instructors reserve the right to cancel or rearrange lessons at short notice due to mechanical failure, illness, or other emergencies.
9. Eyesight Requirement
Pupils must be able to read a standard UK number plate at 20.5 metres in daylight conditions, as required by the DVSA. Lessons will not proceed if this requirement is not met.
10. Fitness to Drive
Instructors reserve the right to refuse or terminate a lesson if they suspect a pupil is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance impairing their ability to drive safely. A breathalyser test may be requested at the instructor’s discretion.
11. Instruction and Road Safety
Instructors will follow the DVSA recommended syllabus and make every reasonable effort to help pupils progress towards driving test readiness. However, Loomys Driving Lessons cannot guarantee that a pupil will pass the driving test.
Instructors may intervene and take control of the vehicle at any time in the interest of safety. Neither Loomys Driving Lessons nor its instructors accept liability for any accidents, damage, or injury caused by the pupil’s negligence or recklessness, whether during lessons or while driving independently.
12. Driving Tests
• Driving tests must be agreed upon between the pupil and instructor in advance.
• Instructors reserve the right to withhold use of the tuition vehicle for the practical driving test if the pupil is not test-ready or has not made appropriate payment arrangements.
• Pupils must pay their instructor separately for vehicle use during the test and for travel to and from the test centre. This fee is not included in the DVSA test fee.
13. Photographs & Reviews
With the pupil’s consent, instructors may take photographs or videos after a driving test and request a customer review via SMS, email, or third-party review platforms such as Google or Facebook.
14. Additional Instructor Terms
Instructors may provide supplementary terms and conditions specific to their individual service. These must be agreed upon and signed by the pupil to be valid.
15. Amendments to Terms
Loomys Driving Lessons reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Any updates will be posted on www.loomys.co.uk and will take effect immediately upon publication.
16. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
