LOOMYS DRIVING LESSONS – TERMS & CONDITIONS
By booking lessons or agreeing to these Terms & Conditions through the Loomys Driving Lessons website, app, or directly with an instructor, you confirm that you understand and accept the conditions set out below regarding driving tuition provided by Loomys Driving Lessons.
1. STATUS OF INSTRUCTORS
All Loomys Driving Lessons instructors operate as independent self-employed franchisees. Lesson prices may vary between instructors and are set at the discretion of the individual instructor.
Loomys Driving Lessons is not responsible for payments made directly to instructors where payment is not processed through the company.
2. ELIGIBILITY
All pupils must:
• Be at least 17 years old in accordance with UK law
• Hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence
• Inform their instructor immediately of any changes to their licence status, endorsements, medical conditions, or disqualifications during the period of tuition
3. LESSON BOOKINGS & CANCELLATIONS
• A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or rearrange a lesson
• Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full
• All lesson payments must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson unless otherwise agreed
• Accepted payment methods include debit card, bank transfer, or any payment methods listed on our website
4. BLOCK BOOKINGS & REFUNDS
• Block booking discounts are offered on the basis of commitment to a course of lessons and are non-refundable once lessons have commenced
• In exceptional circumstances, refunds for unused lessons may be considered at management discretion
• Where a refund is agreed, any completed lessons will be recalculated at the standard hourly rate rather than the discounted block booking rate, and the difference deducted from the refund amount
• Cash refunds are not available
• All prepaid lessons and lesson credits must be used within 4 months of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing
• Unused lessons remaining after this period may be forfeited and become non-refundable
5. LESSON RATES
Loomys Driving Lessons and its instructors reserve the right to amend lesson prices at any time. Pupils will be given reasonable notice of any price changes affecting future bookings.
6. PUNCTUALITY & DELAYS
• Pupils are expected to be ready at the agreed lesson start time
• Instructors will wait a maximum of 15 minutes for a pupil to attend before the lesson is considered forfeited and chargeable in full
• If an instructor is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, any lost lesson time will be rearranged or added to a future lesson where possible
7. LESSON DURATION
Lesson duration must be agreed in advance between the pupil and instructor.
Where lesson time is lost due to circumstances outside the instructor’s control, the remaining time will be credited and rearranged where appropriate.
8. MECHANICAL ISSUES & EMERGENCIES
Lessons may occasionally need to be cancelled or rearranged at short notice due to vehicle mechanical failure, illness, adverse weather conditions, or other unforeseen emergencies.
9. EYESIGHT REQUIREMENT
In accordance with DVSA regulations, pupils must be able to read a standard UK number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres in daylight conditions.
Lessons will not proceed if this legal requirement cannot be met.
10. FITNESS TO DRIVE
Instructors reserve the right to refuse or terminate a lesson if they believe a pupil is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication, or any substance that may impair their ability to drive safely.
Where necessary, a breathalyser test may be requested at the instructor’s discretion.
Any lesson terminated for this reason will remain fully chargeable.
11. INSTRUCTION & ROAD SAFETY
Loomys Driving Lessons instructors follow the DVSA recommended syllabus and will make every reasonable effort to help pupils progress safely towards driving test standard.
However, no guarantee can be given that a pupil will pass their practical or theory driving test.
Instructors may take control of the vehicle at any time in the interest of safety.
Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Loomys Driving Lessons and its instructors are not responsible for loss, damage, or incidents resulting from unsafe, unlawful, negligent, or reckless actions by the pupil.
12. DRIVING TESTS
• Driving tests must be agreed in advance between the pupil and instructor
• Instructors reserve the right to refuse use of the tuition vehicle for a practical driving test if the pupil is not considered test-ready or appropriate payment arrangements have not been made
• Pupils are responsible for payment relating to vehicle use during the practical test and travel to and from the test centre unless otherwise stated
• For intensive driving courses where advertised, the practical driving test fee may be included within the package price
13. INTENSIVE DRIVING COURSES
• Intensive driving course fees must be paid in full before the course start date unless otherwise agreed
• Course dates and lesson schedules are subject to instructor availability
• Additional tuition hours may be recommended depending on the pupil’s ability and progress
• Intensive course payments are non-refundable once the course has commenced
14. PHOTOGRAPHS & REVIEWS
With the pupil’s consent, instructors may take photographs or videos following driving tests and may request reviews through SMS, email, Google, Facebook, or other review platforms.
15. ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTOR TERMS
Individual instructors may provide supplementary terms specific to their own services. Any additional terms must be clearly agreed between the instructor and pupil.
16. AMENDMENTS TO TERMS & CONDITIONS
Loomys Driving Lessons reserves the right to amend or update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
Any updates will be published on www.loomys.co.uk and will apply to future bookings and ongoing tuition from the date of publication.
17. YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS
Nothing within these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
